Since 2012, The Skinny Ties have had audiences all over Southern California reliving the nostalgic days of when videos were on MTV and live bands energized the Sunset Strip. Playing an assortment of timeless ‘80s rock and new wave music, The Skinny Ties take show goers back to one of the most memorable and unique eras of big hair, rubik’s cubes, listening to mixtapes on your walkman and skinny ties!

 

Paying their dues in Los Angeles - members hail degrees from USC’s Thornton School of Music (Rick Melanson, ‘93, ‘98) Musicians Institute (Michelle Soria, ‘12, ‘17) and APU (Gene Simons, '93), along with decades of live performance experience in the L.A. music scene. The band promises a dance experience just like the backyard parties and school dances listeners remember.
